Does your website work for you? Read this article and know.
Do you:
Have less than 100 visitors daily on your website:
Several and many reasons can lead your website to that. Having a low number of visitors to your website means that your website is failing at its mission.
You need to take a serious step here and find out what’s happening and what the reason(S) of that failure is. Here at this article I will try to highlight some points for you that will help you to generate more traffic to your website.
Website content:
Yes, sounds simple, isn’t it?
Your website value is about its content. What type of content do you have on your website, How much content on your website, How do you show content on your website, How often do you update your website’s content…etc
Website’s content is all what’s the website about. Your website is all about the value of the information provided on it to your website visitors.
Website content is so powerful for the website, yet it’s so simple and easy solution. So never take it lightly without a good care because it can bring your website to high sky, or sink it down into deepest ocean. Never take it lightly.
Type of content:
The content and information you have on your website must be relevant to what you are offering on your website. If not, your website is a failure.
Sometimes I open a website that talks about cars, and I unexpectedly find content and information about fashion. Why should a cars website talk about fashion?!! The logical and immediate reaction from me – as a website visitor – I will leave and close the website and search for another one.
Don’t get your visitors run away because you have totally irrelevant content to what your website offers. If you have to do this, you can add another section on your website where you can add that type of irrelevant content. So your website’s visitors can easily navigate your website and easily understand it.
On the other hand, relevant website content is the goal and the success. Your website visitors love to see relevant website content and information because simply they visited your website on the first place to find what they are searching for. And that’s why we have search engines, because we – website visitors – want and need to find exactly what we search for, not faked web page title with extremely irrelevant content.
How much content on your website:
Amount of your website content and how it’s organized is an important factor. You may want to think carefully about this. Too much content, or too little content.
Too much content on one web page is not really “reading friendly” thing. Me myself love to read, but also I hate to scroll down a page forever.
Dividing a long page can be a very good idea that you may want to consider. This is reading friendly and after all a search engine friendly idea.
Too little amount of content on your web page is not really a good thing to do. This doesn’t provide enough information to your website visitors, and may cause the visitor to leave your website searching for another source of information. And trust me; you don’t want that to happen.
Millions of people search daily online for information online, and if they land on your website and didn’t find what they need and search for, they will immediately leave you your website and search for another website where they will find what they need.
Keeping your website content in affair and suitable amount is so much recommended if you want a lot of visitors hitting daily on your website.
How often do you update your website content?
If you never update your website content, the website visitor will act negatively to your website, leaving it, never come back again, and yes, you lose.
As we agreed before, websites are all about information and content. You need to drink water from time to time or your body will dehydrate and fail. That’s the same with your website; it needs fresh content and information from time to time. This makes your website alive.
Keeping your website content updated will show your website visitors how active it is, and they will hit the “favorite button” on their browser, and keep visiting your website regularly and you win loyal daily visitors to your website.
Have a conversion rate less than expected from your website:
If you are running business and using your website to promote it, then you may be expecting a good conversion rate from it, selling your products or by getting your website visitors using your services.
If you have the expected conversion rate from your website, then it’s working for you. Congratulations. But what if you don’t?
Here I will try to help you understand and see how the conversion rate equation works on your website, and we will try to find out what’s wrong there.
Let’s take a look at the following figure and see how this usually works.

At the above figure we can see very simple steps for how things work from the moment the visitor lands on your website, till leaving it, with or without a successful order.
( 1 ) A new visitor land on your website; searching for a specific service or product. That’s the first step. Let’s see the possible scenarios for that step.
( a ) The visitor finds the service successfully
Great job. But is there enough information about what you are offering? If yes, the visitor will be interested to go for the next step. If there isn’t enough information, the visitor more likely to leave your website, and go for one of your competitors.
Solutions for this: We already agreed that information and content is so important and vital to your website. So you may seriously want to have more content and information about every service or product on your website.
( b ) The visitor lands on your website, but cant view your services or products
Are you showing your services and products correctly on your website? Are they easily navigated? Services and products are correctly linked, or you have some broken links?
If your answer to any of the above questions by “Yes”, you strongly need to fix that. A website that offers services but doesn’t show them correctly is a failure.
The visitor views your website, and successfully finds what he needs, then he is more likely to move to the next step and click on the contact page.
( 2 ) Contact
That’s how your website visitors will be able to contact you. Make your contact details easy to be found, and clear enough for the visitors.
Sometimes I visit a website searching for a service or a product, and I find what I was exactly looking for and need. But when I try to find a “contact page” to make an order… I can’t!!
What would be the point from having a website while your visitors can’t contact you or even find out how to reach you?!!
Make your contact page clear enough, easy to be found, to have a successful contact.
